Saurabh Mishra

Mr Saurabh Mishra is the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance at Dept. of Financial Services, Govt of India, holding remit for Indian Insurance and FinTech sectors. His key responsibilities include all policy matters relating to Insurance sector -Life, Health, General, Reinsurance and Intermediaries, administrative charge of all Insurance and Nationalisation Acts of PSIs and oversight of PSIs (LIC, GIC, AIC, New India, National, Oriental, United) as well as all policy matters of FinTech and Cyber Security across banking, FI and ins. sector as the CISO and CTO,DFS and matters of international cooperation on Insurance.

He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector in Indian and overseas markets. Before taking charge at the Government of India, Saurabh worked with Willis Towers Watson (WTW) as Head of Client Management & Banking, Financial Services Industry (BFSI) Leader, India. Saurabh also served on the board of Willis Towers Watson, India (WTWIPL) as its While-time Director and acted as the Country Representative for the Asia CFT (Client-facing Technology) Engagement Board. Previously, Saurabh was the Group CEO of Muscat Insurance Company SAOG ((erstwhile Muscat National Company SAOG) based at Oman.

He is MBA (Finance)  and ‘Fellow’ of Insurance from Insurance Institute of India.
He is also Certified Blockchain Expert from Blockchain Council, USA.
