Sanjiv Singh

Sanjiv Singh is working as Technical Advisor (Marine) in the General Insurance Council since December 2018. He has all round experience of 34 years in the general insurance industry. Prior to joining the General Insurance Council, he was head of the marine department in the New India Assurance Co Ltd. as Chief Manager and Deputy General Manager, handling the industry’s largest Marine Cargo, Hull & Energy insurance portfolio for nearly a decade.

He is Chairperson of the Education Forum of International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) since September 2021. He has been associated with IUMI for last 11 years. Elected as a member of IUMI Cargo Committee in 2014 and in the year 2019 as member, Education Forum, he is now member of the Facts & Figures Committee also since 2020.

He actively works with Indian marine underwriters and is widely associated with academic institutions and a few government projects on shipping and maritime insurance.
