Praveen Gupta

Praveen Gupta is a Chartered Insurer. He was part of the core founding team at the Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Co. Ltd. and founding Managing Director & CEO of specialist insurer QBE’s India JV (RQBE). Praveen started his career as a Direct Recruit Officer with The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. He now devotes time to teaching, writing and speaking – with a particular focus on Climate Change, Sustainability, ESG, Energy and Risk Management. A postgraduate in History from St. Stephen’s College, Praveen is a Fellow of both Chartered Insurance Institute and Insurance Institute of India. He is a winner of D. Subramaniam Award and SK Desai Memorial Prize by the Insurance Institute of India; special prize by the Geneva Association (Switzerland); and Group Study Exchange Award by the Rotary Foundation.

During the four decades Praveen worked in India, the UK, Hong Kong and Thailand. He also has a first-hand experience of Taiwan, Mainland China, Indonesia and Vietnam. Praveen believes that the insurance industry has an urgent and vital role in restoring planetary health. He is an important global voice in that space today.
